Step inside My solo exhibition ‘CHROMANTIC’

My solo exhibition, ‘CHROMANTIC’, which began on July 7th with an opening champagne reception, runs through July 29th at Raw1899 in San Angelo, Texas (my hometown). I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have a solo show in this space and loved creating all new works to display at the show. It had been four years since I had a solo show and I knew I wanted to knock it out of the park with this one. So, I really pushed my creativity and skills during the time leading up to this show to create a body of work that is not only different from my past work but, is also more imaginative and complex than just layering textured paint in a selective color palette like I have done in the past. Here’s a peek at all of my work hanging in the gallery:

Artist Statement: “For the past year, I have been fascinated by color theory and relationships, which is what started the creation of my newest series of paintings. Through inspiration piqued by unexpected color combinations, which I found through my love of fashion photography and interior design, I created a series that explores the intersections of colors. Vibrant hues morph and blend into one another across each painting like a color spectrum, creating dynamic patterns of brilliant colors through the use of different brush marks and blending techniques. This experimentation of brush work creates kaleidoscopic swirls and waves with more depth and unpredictability in each painting.”

Thanks to everyone who came out to the opening and purchased a painting, your support means the world to me.
